The Stone Egg of Babylon— Forbidden Page 3
Jerome’s Journal: An Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures
Babylon is said to be the home of the first humans in the Costa Region. Underneath what is now known as the Murky Swamp, Babylon is built from large stone structures. Natural plant life grows wild throughout the area, but it’s unknown if that happened overtime or was always that way.
Most of the ruins are underneath the mud and water that fills the swamp, but large towers still emerge, allowing for access into the city itself, deep below the surface.
The Stone Egg of Babylon was hard to depict as more than a stone considering that it resembles that of a large boulder. There are stories of a dark green creature morphing from the stone breathing a dark green gaseous substance from its mouth.
It’s likely that whatever was born from the Stone Egg created the deep plant life around the Murky Swamp, and the location caused the once great stone land of Babylon to be flooded by the River of Spirits.
Notable Facts:
- It is rumored that the Gargoyles were heavily inspired by the research done by Babylonians.
