The First Creature Collection from the FlavorVerse
Introduction
Hello, my name is Danathon James, and I’m releasing a collection of what I call Flavor Emblems on the Tezos Blockchain.
Release Dates and Pricing will be decided soon, but I plan to make it incredibly entry level, with some being as low as 1 XTZ.
What are Flavor Emblems?
Flavor Emblems are the official collectibles of the FlavorVerse, the canonically weaved together story worlds I’ve created over the past 7+ years. These will come in the form of collectible card NFT’s.
Through Flavor Emblems, it will allow me to share the work I’ve been doing, and I hope to build a community around Cinema, Lore, and Gaming, and hope to find a solid place here on the Tezos Blockchain.

My Passion and Ultimate Goal
My passion is directing, and I plan to create films for the stories of the universe, with the ultimate goal of creating a Virtual FlavorVerse “Theme Park” that can transport you into the world of the FlavorVerse.
I have been working in the film industry for about 6 years, and have put together a film crew ready to work when the time comes.
I hope to build a cinematic universe, creating film, stories, and games within the FlavorVerse.
This is not something that will be built overnight, it is something that I plan to build for the rest of my life.
The Cryptid Collection of Flavor Emblems
I will be releasing 2000 Flavor Emblems based on the Cryptids from Jerome’s Journal: An Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures, a source book from my story, The Cryptid Coalition.
Each Cryptid was hand drawn with markers, and I have written a Page of lore for all 40 of them, and you can find each of those in the Jerome’s Journal Directory.
There will be 50 Flavor Emblems for each of the 40 Cryptids adding up to the total of 2000.
There are 6 Rarity Tiers of Flavor Emblems:
Core, Rare, Epic, Mythic, Legendary, and Fabled.
Flavor Emblems will have a different colored background to represent Rarity. For each Cryptid, there will be:
20 — Core (White)
12 — Rare (Orange)
7 — Epic (Purple)
3 — Mythic (Yellow)
2 — Legendary (Blue)
The final rarity tier is a little bit different.
Fabled Flavor Emblems
The Fabled Flavor Emblems will all be 1/1.
There are 6 Fabled backgrounds for each of the 40 Cryptids.
- Golden
- FlavorVerse
- Toy Blocks
- Dark
- Enchanted
- Whimsical
Each Cryptid will only have 1 Flavor Emblem with each of these, making these ones the rarest in the collection.
The Golden Cryptids will be gifted to holders of my Genesis Flavor Emblems. More on this below.
Half of the FlavorVerse Cryptids will be gifted to my Origin FlavorVerse Members, the ones that have been in my Discord since the very beginning.
Whimsical Flavor Emblems
The Whimsical Flavor Emblems are a little bit different than the other Fabled Flavor Emblems — Each Cryptid will have its own unique Whimsical Background as opposed to the others where there will be the same background on a different Cryptid.
This allows for even more variation. All Whimsical Backgrounds were created with the same color palette.
Short Term Goals and Projects Within
From this initial drop, I have a few projects lined up:
Jerome’s Journal: An Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures — E-book NFT’s
- From the Pages of Lore you can find on Medium, I will turn Jerome’s Journal into an E-Book NFT. There will be additional lore that you will not find anywhere else inside this book, along with a rarity system. I would like to give every owner of a Flavor Emblem one of these.
Lake Melancholy Short Film
- I have released a Short Story from a book I am writing, Toy Saga, called Lake Melancholy. The reason I chose to start the Flavor Emblems Collection with Cryptids is because I have Cryptids sprinkled out throughout a lot of my stories, and this will be an awesome bridge to another of my story worlds.
I would like to direct this short story into a short film. I haven’t figured out the logistics of how I would like to drop it as an NFT, but rest assured, that is part of the plan.
Film is a large aspect of the FlavorVerse, and this is the perfect opportunity to share the story with everyone, even if at a small scale.
This will likely end up being a Short Film Series as time goes on, as I have written out this entire side story while putting together my book.
Cryptid Battle System and The Cryptid Coalition Cup
I am in the process of creating a battle system for the Cryptids. While it is inspired by Pokemon, I think you’ll find the actual battling process quite unique. I will have more on the mechanics of the system at a later date.
It’s being setup so that I could potentially have a bot made to play this in Discord.
I would also like to release a simple version of it as a Board Game.
A larger goal would be to create a Pokemon-like video game, replaced with the Cryptid Battle System, with a story I can write to expand on the world of The Cryptid Coalition, and in time, turning it into a Play-To-Earn game.
This should all culminate with a large scale community event called The Cryptid Coalition Cup. This event takes place within the History of the FlavorVerse, but I’ve setup certain parts of my stories to form from these events themselves, allowing holders to have a chance at becoming part of the FlavorVerse Canon themselves.
Genesis Flavor Emblems
Currently on Rarible, there are 40 Genesis Flavor Emblems, 1 for each Cryptid. These are 3D Collectible Cards, and will be treated as their own project, getting their own utility over the years. I plan on making these ones super special.
Holders of the Genesis Flavor Emblems will be gifted the Fabled 1/1 Golden Flavor Emblem of their respective Cryptid.
Conclusion
This is all large scale, and I do not plan to create this overnight.
I have been working on the stories of the FlavorVerse for over 7 years, and I’m just getting started. This is something I plan to build for the rest of my life, and I will do my best to build a community worth being in.
I’ve been putting work into building every aspect of this world for so long, it feels amazing to finally start being able to share my work with everyone
