Jerome’s Journal: Chemosit — Page 33
An NFT Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures
The Chemosit began as rumors of a high shouldered-ape like creature, with the grizzly aptitude of a bear. While never seeing one myself, I’ve heard they were able to stand on their hind legs, towering over whatever has the misfortune of being in front of them.
Usually found in areas that have overlap between forests and desert, the Chemosit is carnivorous, as one would most likely expect.
It is said to be a possible branch of species from the Chalicothere, with the potential that it mixed in some DNA from a large sloth or bear.
The Chalicotheres were hybrids of giraffes, goats, sloths, and gorillas, likely a reason they went extinct for lack of plant life near the desert, but the ones with some bear DNA became carnivorous to save them from extinction.
Strong physical power, likely enhanced by Cryptid Energy, the Chemosit resembles what you would expect to be some sort of juiced up, mutated grizzly bear, likely having some relation to Rhinoceros as well.
There were some ruins found near what is expected to be from the Lost City of Zerzura, a large giraffe, bear hybrid facing what appears to be a Karkadaan.
It’s likely Zerzura had different factions within it pitting Karkadaans vs Chemosit.
