An NFT Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures
A kid walked up to me one time, and pointed at a Cryptid we had walking around one of our new Cryptid Ranches that Maurice Lamar and I started. They asked, “Mr. Jerome, can you tell me what type of Cryptid that is?”, I respond, “Sure, Laddie, it’s a Shore Laddie.” They didn’t laugh. Maybe they didn’t understand the joke.
Maurice first came across a Shore Laddie on the Island of the Forgotten, the same place I met Bunny.
Shore Laddies stand at around a foot and a half high, due to their stumpy legs, and about three and a half feet long from head to tail. Their tail looks like a paddle, similar to a beaver’s tail. They have these weird antennae on their head that seemingly have no actual usage other than also being their ears. Maybe it’s just that simple, but the shape of them confuses me.
Their feet are webbed, allowing them to walk on sand and shallow water on the shores of the beach, where they like to eat the washed up plants and small fish.
They have patches on their back that are different color and texture than their normal tan, coarse body, usually green, but I’ve seen some have a more orange-red tinge.
Shore Laddies seem to be almost constantly panting, like walking tires them out. They’re one of the, how should I say, derpiest Cryptids I have ever seen, often tripping over their own feet, or getting stuck on their back.
Notable Facts
- Maurice’s Shore Laddie was on the boat when he escaped on the Island of the Forgotten.
