Ammit

The Ammit was another one of the Gargoyle creations.

They have the mane of a lion, the head and body of a crocodile, and the back of a hippopotamus. This hybrid of animals makes me believe it is similar to that of the Manticore, another Gargoyle creation used for battle, making them around 14 feet long.

Based on the three animals that seemingly make up an Ammit, it seems the idea was to create a Cryptid that had exceptional usage in battle by taking three of the most dangerous animals that used to be a threat to humans.

This Cryptid seems a lot simpler than the Manticore, and has been seen a lot less. It likely comes from an earlier time period which lead to the eventual research necessary to create the Manticore.

This fearsome creature made it to the final rounds of the Cryptid Coalition Cup Championship, allowing it to grow in notoriety as a Cryptid Partner despite its now low number in existence. The Hunter became quite famous.

The Ammit has multiple variations, likely due to different genetic proportions in the makeup of its DNA. Some are lion based, some crocodile, some hippo, but it’s always the combination of the 3 that makes up the Ammit.

Notable Facts

  • Some Ammits have the head of a Hippo.
