An NFT Encyclopedia of Cryptids and Other Mythical Creatures
Not too far away from the River of Spirits, there is a deep, dark Jungle that is rarely ever explored. I found out firsthand why. During an excavation of an ancient artifact, I traveled with a group in hopes of finding a special type of frog that I thought could have an extreme level of PCE, Potential Cryptid Energy.
The Athol is a dangerous creature stated to terrorize and prey on anything that comes in its path, and unfortunately, some of my group in the jungle excavation didn’t make it back due to the Athol.
I have only heard of stories where there was exactly one Athol, but they might be extremely territorial, and not hunt in packs. It’s hard to get a lot of research on the Athol thanks to the danger of the jungle, and the threat they oppose.
They are large, about 8 feet from head to toe with a giant wingspan. They have a dark gray furry body, resembling a large bat but also a large monkey. They seem to have a sonar radio, but they howl like primates. Something about their level of intellect reminds me of the Sasquatch and the Yeti, which makes them even more frightening if they are more cognizant of their actions.
This is a Cryptid I hope I never have to witness firsthand again.
