Charli grew up in the Lost City of El Dorado before their home town was ravaged by a gang looking for the mysterious treasure of wealth locked away in the city.
They came and attacked with their Cryptids, taking out the majority of the strongest fighters.
In the middle of the takeover, Charli saw one of the invaders beating their Cryptid after being taken down in a fight, and Charli punched them in the face, and protected the deformed baby cryptid.
Lancelot flew in on his Pegasus, Shadow, and took out the invader who was about to attack Charli. Against Lancelot’s discretion, Charli bonded with the deformed baby, later finding out it was a Manticore, a genetically modified species created for battle. It was supposed to be extinct for 20 years.
Charli lived in Lancelot’s enclave for months before Ashe showed up, who Charli despises her being brought into the Cryptid World, and given such high recommendations from Lancelot, without having any knowledge of the history of the Cryptids.
